How do I find a Family?
Firstly, you need to create a free candidate profile telling families all about yourself, your experience and the kind of job you are looking for. Interested families can then contact you directly.
How do I search for Families?
Simply click the Search Families link, select your search criteria and click on run search. This will display candidates that match your initial search criteria. The search results are returned and a summary profile for each candidate is listed. The candidates profiles are displayed with the following easy to icons displaying key attributes from their profile. These are:
requires driving licence
requires help with house work
requires first aid training
requires help with pet care
requires care for children under two
requires care for elderly people
requires care for children with special needs
If you would like to conduct a more targeted search, use the Advanced search link.
In all the search results, filters are available that allow you to show only those profiles that match your required length of stay; nationality, location, language skills to name a few options for searching.
Can I work for a Family anywhere in the world?
As an Au Pair or Nanny you must adhere to the visa process from the country you want to go. Inform yourself on the visa requirements for this Country and identify the possible nationalities who can work there before applying for a job, as this may save you some time during the interview and selection process. As a starting point, visit our section on Visas to see if this Country is listed.
Do you have any other tips on defining suitable nationalities for a family?
Yes, it might also be worth while looking at the possible travel arrangements between your location and other destinations. Au Pairs generally pay their own airfare, and as the Au Pair only earns pocket money with the family, long distance travel may be cost prohibitive for them. Expedia or Travelocity are great travel sites to research destinations that fly to the family's nearest airport and the possible costs.
